Festival OF Colors!! and other adventures :)

It seems like Sunday is always the perfect day to sit back, relax, and give a little update on what we've been up to!!  This past week was super busy with work and school, so by the time we got home and settled we were ready to pass out!!  So this weekend we decided we were gonna get the most out of our days off and I have to say we pulled it off splendidly :)   Friday night  I went out to eat and to the grocery store with my mom while John was at an APX meeting.  We ate at our favorite mexican restaurant (in utah county-we LOVE red iguana in salt lake!)  Cocolito's, which is amazing and if you are craving mexican food you really must try it!!! Then when John was done with his meeting we went with all his sales rep friend's to play ping pong and hang out.  Another wife, Carli, was there and we scoped out our apartment's we'll be living in out in Iowa and talked while the boys played.  She is super cute and I'm excited to have a friend out there!  It will also be so nice for a change of scenery and to get back to my Iowa girl roots :)  John is stoked to sell and I am sure we are in for one awesome summer.

Saturday we woke up, got ready and went to the Festival of Colors with friends and about 10,000 other people!  The festival is at the Hare Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork, and it celebrates the ending of winter and the start of spring and new life.  Everyone buys bags of colored chalk, and they do a big countdown and then everyone throws it!  The color was literally everywhere, in the air, on the ground, in your mouth, lungs, clothes, etc!  It was incredible.  We of course had to take some pictures!...

how cool is that!! thousands of people from all over the state. Beautiful!

so we may have started throwing chalk a little earlyy.... :)

Becca, Caitlin and I before the madness!

sorry this picture is sideways guys, still super cute of these two!

we got really crazy with the chalk on becca! haha i love you girl.

the madness!!! it was so much worse than this. this is when we got brave enough to get the camera back out ;)
so cute!!!!  i love this picture.

proof that the chalk gets everywhere-nice teeth baby :)

by the time you breathe all that chalk in, you are so ready to go.  Bye Krishna temple!
after we "cleaned up" :P ;)

after the second getting ready ritual of the day, we went to my sister-in-law Alaina's birthday dinner.  We love Alaina and Brad and their sweet little daughter Adrie :)  We went to Texas Roadhouse and had a great time.

My sister Arianne and her family came down for the birthday girl, and after we went to Macy's to look at Easter dresses for her little girls.  I went upstairs to just see if there were any good deals, and I just have to say that I found $100 Lucky Brand jeans marked down to $13.20. Did you read that, $13.20!!!!  So. Awesome. The fact that they were my exact size and fit like a dream was like the cherry on top of the perfect Saturday :)

Today we went to church, and had a family and friend BBQ at my mom's house.  We also got to go to Becca's missionary discussion which is like, the coolest experience every time.  I love Sundays these days :)

Hope you all have an awesome week!

Love always, Katie Taylor
