APX Black Tie Event

Hey everybody!  Sorry it's been a little while since an update but HEY, I've got TWO updates for you so how about that!   This last week was extremely eventful-we went to Vegas, celebrated John's 23rd birthday on October 4th (so OLD.  haha jk), had lots of school work and both of us were getting over a terrible, nasty, no good cold.  However, we did have lots of fun.  John's birthday was celebrated with family and friends, and he was spoiled rotten with clothes, HALO Reach, and some extra spending cash.  Then we went along our normal lives with school taking up the bulk of our time-lots of papers, quizzes and tests this last week-which is terrible when you are doing it but rewards you afterward with a sense of accomplishment and new knowledge.

Friday night was John's regional party for the end of summer sales.  If you have never worked for APX, or been to one of their shin-digs, you are missing out.  These guys don't skimp on ANYTHING!  This party was a formal, black tie event.  This meant John looking smokin' in a tuxedo and me in a pretty dress. We even got them to match!  The evening started out at Rodizio Grill with our entire office-we looked like a bunch of teenagers going to prom, except we were all 20-somethings to 30-somethings haha.  The meal was amazing and conversation was great-we love our APX family :)  Then we went to the Salt Lake Country Club where the main event was held. They had EVERYTHING-Drinks and h'orderves, comedy sports, dancing, entertainers like magicians and fire dancers, etc.  The best part was the Casino rooms-where you gambled for raffle tickets for prizes. It was way fun and I imagine less stressful than actual gambling(I have never gambled for money).  John ended up doing really well and we won several things in the raffle!  It was really fun to hang out with our APX friends and to see all the girls' fabulous dresses.  There were around 1,000 people attending and that made for an awesome vibe for the party!

SO! That was our friday night.  We didn't get home until two in the morning-we have not stayed out that late the entire time we've been married!  It was a fabulous night, in every aspect!
Love, Katie
