We had work and school all day, the usual! When we got home we got ready and went out to eat at The Italian Place. If you haven't been they make really delicious cheesesteak sandwiches and for some reason that has been sounding so good to me lately! After that we met up with my sister Arianne and her husband Lance to go to the temple. John and I haven't been since we got back from El Paso and I was so excited to go! We got there pretty late so we did sealings. I really love the temple and all that it stands for, and the peace I feel going there. I am so happy we live just 5 minutes from it so we can go more often now! :) After that we came home and attempted to watch a movie and ended up going to bed early-we were so tired!
Saturday!
John and I were going, going, going all day long. We started out at my niece Adrie's 5th birthday party. Adrie is such a spunky, intelligent, beautiful, hilarious little girl. I don't know how all that personality fits in that 5 year old body! We went out to eat at Joe Vera's for lunch, which is probably the fam's favorite mexican restaurant. The salsa is incredible! Adrie opened some of her presents there and then we went back to Brad and Alaina's for cake and ice cream, and Adrie opened more presents. She is definitely a girly girl; she got barbies, princess themed gifts, and lots of things for coloring!
After Adrie's party we came home, cleaned the house, and then I headed over to yet another birthday party, for my friend Alecia's little boy Milo. They had his party at Noah's, which is pretty much the coolest venue ever. Milo turned 1 this weekend and is seriously to die for. He is the perfect mix of his mama and dad! Alecia and I have been friends since we were 16 and I love that girl to death! She is such a spectacular friend and mentor. I don't know what I'd do without her.
On my way home from the party I stopped by Roberts and picked up everything I needed to do a little afternoon craft. It's one I found on pinterest and it's SUPER simple, but I loved it! It's basically like a personalized un-white board haha.
I got a frame I liked, and put a pretty piece of scrapbook paper inside. Then I attached magnets to the frame and put it on my fridge. You use dry erase markers on the glass and voila! There's a decoration/functional piece in your kitchen. I love it!
Then I made the dinner that's written on my new board above :)
Pesto Chicken Stuffed Shells
Parmesan Roasted Tomatoes and Zucchini
and
Green Salad with Raspberries, Grapes, and Apples
YUM. The main dish and the vegetables were also pinterest finds. I love that freaking website.
After dinner, surprisingly enough, we did NOT watch the BYU/Utah game. I know shocker, but apparently it would have been a huge waste of time anyway :P! But neither of us were really in the mood to watch it, so we went to the Cocoa Bean for cupcakes and hot cocoa and got a movie. While we watched I made a cake to take to my parent's house for Sunday dinner and went to bed totally exhausted!
Sunday!
My niece Liza and Annie had a primary program today, so we woke up early and went to my sister's ward at 11. I love primary programs, they are so entertaining and sweet. Watching the little kids sing the songs is always a crack up, they are so emphatic and happy to be up there! Liza and Annie did a good job reading their lines and looked so pretty. A theme for the wardrobes of little girls in that ward are GIANT bows and flowers in their hair. It was so funny. There was one little girl who's silver flower was literally the size of her whole face, if not bigger. After church we went over to my parent's house for dinner. We all ended up in the living room sprawled out talking to each other. My niece Sadie and I went outside to play, she is so darling! She always wants to run, and for me to run with her. It's understandable she has SO much energy to get out! And she always lets me take the BEST pictures of her, she is so cute!
telling me about the purple flowers
sweetest face ever!
"Sadie can you smile for me?"
"Ya Tee!"
*perfect picture*
We came home from my parents house and are both getting ready for our week. Well, John is getting ready by doing homework, and I should really start getting ready by finishing my homework! Hoping for an early bed time so I don't wake up dreading the day! We had such a busy fun filled weekend and I am sad it's ending, but with how busy our weeks are soon enough it will be Friday again!
Love,
Katie
